Brooke Tateossian

I grew up in Goshen, NY and went to Drew University where I met my husband of 22 years. My prior business experience was in HR, then Executive Recruiting. I love to try new food and travel. I am a devoted Soccer Mom and an information junkie who wishes there were more hours in the day. I am more of a Go Big or Go Home girl than someone who treads lightly.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
We have 3 children and we are all obsessed with our pup, Brody! We love hosting family dinner for our extended families and friends!

Q: Please tell us about your current career. What do you love most about what you do?
I began my own business 5 1/2 years ago, The Suburban Concierge, which is based in Ramsey. What I love most about it is helping women and families tackle their day to do day so they can move onward and upward with their career and families. I am always seeking out great resources for my clients and recently began to rep an athleisure line called Peach.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
We love Bici in Ramsey and Allendale Corner Cafe does really excellent Middle Eastern food! I dream about the moussaka at Greek City!

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
We have lived here for 20 years, which seems really unbelievable!

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
Everyone has a story to tell and wisdom to share. Someone I always think of so fondly is Kathy Fraites, who has since left Ramsey. She was my son’s teacher at Redeemer and she has a beautiful way about her and the way she sees at children and the world.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
There are so many places I want to go, but in the last few years I haven’t missed just the travel, it’s been the connection. For that reason I would say Spain. I have never been and my husband has wonderful memories and family there.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
I don’t watch a lot of TV but finally saw Ted Lasso and I could not get enough of it!

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Say “Yes!” in your personal and professional life. For women, specifically, I would say, “Just jump!” Stop the analysis paralysis! Making mistakes is part of the journey and life it too short to find the optimal time to do something.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Ohhh, lots of things! I want to see New Zealand, Australia, Morocco and the Galapagos. I want to go to cooking school in Italy.

Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
That’s tough! I’m an 80’s girl who loves country music. I like a mix, so I usually play No Shoes Radio on Sirius.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
The merry go round at Paramus Park Mall! I have so many photos of my kids on it…

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Lunch? Jacinda Ardern. I am fascinated with her poise and conviction. I love lunch outside on a sunny day at Varka.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I love the way the community will rise up to help others in need. I’ve witnessed it over and over and am consistently amazed at people’s kindness and generosity.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Hopefully in the beach house we have always wanted with lots of family and friends!

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I have always wanted to go to cosmetology school.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
I could not get enough of Italy and I need to see more of Costa Rica.

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
I love July because that’s when we feel most free as a family and I love Derby Day!

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
The day I watched our kids surf together in Costa Rica. We found tons of awesome seashells, the water was warm and we had lunch together on the beach under a big shady tree.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My husband and kids.

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
Peonies and coffee.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Close. Laughter. Celebrations.
